3 CHF Lge Sow Crop IMG_1458.jpgNeither Jim nor Chris farm organically. And yet we know that to many people ‘organic’ is a shorthand for ‘better quality’. So why don’t we adopt this method and sell organic meat?

The reality is that the way we farm has a lot in common with organic methods.

We believe in farming in a way that -

  • looks after the land and is sustainable
  • is kind to the stock we rear and ensures they lead contented, natural lives
  • doesn’t use huge amounts of pesticides, artificial fertilisers nor antibiotics to force the land and the animals to produce more than is reasonable.
But we don’t believe in being tied to a set of standards that demand charging higher prices to our customers. We’ve considered moving to organic status and selling certified organic pork and organic beef – but at the moment we’re happy the way we are. Anyone who wants to see for themselves how we farm and how we look after the animals is welcome to come and see for themselves.
