When you drive through Cheshire, it might look like a typical rural scene – fields full of cows and sheep, scattered villages. The casual observer might suppose that farming is the main business activity – but country life has changed. Cheshire, as with all rural counties, is home to a host of small and expert businesses, forming a virtual network.

This is the reality of country life today – on the one hand, farmers have diversified into many different businesses in response to the changes in global agriculture; and on the other, many people have chosen to live and work in the country, now that technology can link us all up.
